August 19, 2021: Pirates of the Sea was released by Prestige Games.
March 12, 2026: Bad Guys Games officially acquired the full Intellectual Property and publishing rights for Pirates of the Sea from Prestige Games.
Future: Bad Guys Games plans to rebuild Pirates of the Sea from the ground up using Unreal Engine 5, introducing a new campaign and deeper survival RPG elements.
