Adept Software was founded by programmer Adam Pedersen in Orlando, Florida, in the early 1990s. They are known for developing classic shareware DOS games like Jetpack and Squarez Deluxe!, which were tightly coded and endlessly replayable.

History
1992Released the original puzzle game Squarez independently.
1993Launched the hit platformer Jetpack and the enhanced puzzle game Squarez Deluxe!. Also released the festive Jetpack Christmas Special.
1998Made Jetpack and Squarez Deluxe! available as freeware.
