CrossOver: Roll For Initiative
Defend your tabletop RPG character sheet from invading pixel enemies. Find matches in your tray of dice to power attacks to clear the evil from your shelf full of campaign books. Extremely frantic match-3 RPG puzzle meets action-strategy tower defence. Sort of. NOT a relaxing game!

Detailed Description
It's late at night in your 80’s bedroom, and a weird energy fills the air, making your “G64” computer flicker oddly. Brushing it off, you roll up a character sheet for the tabletop roleplaying games on your shelf. Before you finish, dark portals appear on your desk and little pixel creatures cross over into our world! Defend your character through the stages of each campaign book - whether it’s all in your head or not.
A Unique Gameplay Hybrid
CrossOver takes some classic concepts from traditionally “casual” genres (Match 3 and Tower Defence) and crosses them into a new and eccentric challenge with Action, Strategy, RPG and Puzzle elements. Featuring over 100 levels in fantasy and sci-fi settings, extra game modes, and uniquely asymmetrical Co-op modes (one player controlling the dice and the other handling the attacks), CrossOver is... let's face it, it's bloody weird. Good thing there's a demo, right?A Deep Challenge
Each campaign includes:- Shops to buy armor and items
- RPG progression (earn XP, level up, increase stats)
- Dozens of spells and weapons to find
- Mercenaries to hire
- Random encounters with Fighting Fantasy book type choices
- Persistent gems to unlock classes/races (15 of each per game setting) or trade in for extra gold
A Wealth Of Content
- Fantasy and Sci-Fi game modules - more genres may be released later as expansions
- 7 x Solo Campaign books per module, each with several stages
- Local Co-op toggle for all main Campaigns (gamepad-only control for dice), plus Steam Remote Play Together for a player to join in remotely (gamepad required)
- Dedicated Online Lobby Co-op Mode (2nd player's mouse control for dice) - instead of the full campaigns, this has special Scenarios (7 for each game module) featuring premade characters for streamlined play, plus 2 Endless Modes
- Procedurally generated Endless Modes (both Solo and Online Lobby Co-op for each game module, no Local Co-op) to challenge the Online Leaderboards
- Dice Defense game mode for each game module - autobattling dice towers to upgrade and move against endless waves of enemies (Solo only)
- Unlockable art gallery
- Hidden minigame
Difficulty Setting - Casual Play
If you're overwhelmed by the game's unrelenting pace, try adjusting the Difficulty Setting. This reduces the damage dealt by enemies, allowing players to focus more on chill enjoyment than frantic survival - without needing to Halt Time to catch a breath. When set to 0, enemies deal no damage at all and Deterrents (which act as a pseudo time limit) are disabled, enabling you to play completely at your leisure. These settings are only for Solo/Local Co-op Campaign play and can be toggled on or off at any point without needing to restart a campaign. The game's still weird, though.Latest Resources
