Heroes of Might and Magic 4

Unlike its predecessors, heroes are placed directly on the battlefield alongside their troops, performing physical attacks and spells. The game features a unique skill tree system allowing players to carefully choose the growth path of their heroes. The terrain graphics evolved into a refined isometric 2D perspective. Combat animations for creatures were significantly improved, emphasizing individual unit movement. The class system is deeply implemented, allowing heroes to evolve into specialized warrior or mage roles. While maintaining the classic fun of resource management and town building, it introduced tactical changes centered on hero participation. Despite mixed reception due to these experimental changes, it is recognized for establishing its own distinct gameplay identity.
