MotherLoad
In MotherLoad, the player controls a mining pod and tries to acquire the most valuable minerals in the ground of Mars. The minerals are then turned in for cash which can go towards fuel or mining pod upgrades. The key to the game is to try and get the mining pod upgraded enough to drill as deep as possible while collecting valuables and minerals. The player is communicated to through transmissions by the boss and other mining workers. However, through random earthquakes and strange transmissions, it seems as though not everything is as it should be. The deeper the player drills, more answers may be found. The mining pod's drill, hull, engine, fuel tank, radiator and cargo bay can be upgraded. Within these six parts that can be upgraded, there are six different quality parts that vary in price and effectiveness. There are also other small pod purchases that can be made such as reserve fuel tanks, hull repair nanobots, dynamite, plastic explosives, quantum teleporters and matter transmitters. The mining pod will explode if fuel is depleted or if too much damage is brought upon the hull. This browser title is free to play, but was later made available as a downloadable, premium game called MotherLoad Goldium Edition.
