Avernum
Avernum is a remake of Exile, Spiderweb Software's first game. It uses the Nethergate game engine and plays in much the same way. A few things have been improved, however. Instead of just clicking on subjects players want to know more about in conversations, and getting static data as feedback, they can now select from several choices of what to say. It is a more natural system, like in Ultima Underworld. The combat has not changed significantly, except that there are new weapons, and many more spells, than in previous games, and these have altered graphics. The sprite animation has been expanded on, and additional frames added to the character animations. The isometric tile-by-tile scrolling view has not changed, but the many frames added on will help improve combat.
