Chronicles of Mystery: The Tree of Life
In this sequel to Chronicles of Mystery: The Scorpio Ritual Sylvie Leroux, the young archaeologist, is working at Brittany’s Maritime Museum where she restores an ancient conquistador's chest. It appears to have a hidden compartment with information related to the mystery of Mary Celeste and the legend of the Tree of Life. Soon she will meet count Georges de Saint-Germain for whom solving the mystery is a matter of life and death, and she will learn that they aren't the only ones who are after the Tree of Life. In her quest Sylvie will travel from Brittany to Venice, she will visit Cairo, and sail across the Mediterranean Sea. In Gibraltar she will discover an airship that will bring the count and herself to Bimini Island inside the Bermuda Triangle, where the Tree of Life is located. Gameplay and interface are similar to the original game. Hotspot names are shown in the upper black bar, which also hides a top menu with saving/loading options and a notebook. The notebook contains previous dialogues, important points to note, a journal, and documents picked up along the way. Dialogues can be skipped. By clicking on a question mark at the bottom right of the screen all hotspots will be revealed. The number of saving slots is unlimited. The game includes two mild timed sequences (the game autosaves before these sequences).
