Hound 13 unveiled a new design for Lute, the main character of its open world action RPG 'Dragon Sword: Awakening', which is scheduled to be re-released through Steam today (30th).
'Dragon Sword: Awakening' is a game that is scheduled to be re-released through Steam by converting 'Dragon Sword', which was previously released through Webzen, into self-publishing. In addition to changes in publishing and platforms, 'Dragon Sword: Awakening' has predicted changes in many areas. As the service method changed to a single package game, the BM also changed from before. Unlike the previous 'Dragon Sword', which was a so-called gacha method in which characters were paid for and drawn on a F2P basis, 'Dragon Sword: Awakening' has changed so that both characters and equipment can be acquired through in-game play.
With this change anticipated, the refined design of the main character, Lute, has been revealed and is attracting attention. The basic design is similar to before. From the large scar on his left cheek to the white outfit and green muffler, his existing features are mostly maintained the same, and while maintaining these features, he has become more mature. In 'Dragon Sword', the appearance was still somewhat young, close to adolescence, whereas in 'Dragon Sword: Awakening', the appearance changed to closer to adolescence.
Once the refined lute was revealed, it received generally favorable reviews from the community. They say that most of them are satisfactory changes, but they are also expressing expectations about whether characters that have not been released yet will be refined, including main characters such as Johnny.
‘Dragon Sword: Awakening’ is scheduled to be officially released through Steam in July. As a single-player-based package game rather than F2P or MMORPG, BM is being designed with a focus on character costumes and familiars (vehicles). Meanwhile, regarding plans after the official launch, the company announced that it plans to sell expansion packs that allow new characters and worlds to be played, and that long-term service is also in mind.
