What if the photos you take could instantly be turned into a game?
On the 19th, Nintendo made a surprise announcement for a new game, 'Pictonico!', which allows players to enjoy games using their own photos.
Pictonico is a unique title that adapts photos stored on your device into fun mini-games. In the 31-second trailer released alongside the announcement, you can see people from photos transforming in bizarre ways, such as eating corn, fending off lobsters, or unwrapping mummy bandages.
This new title was co-developed by Nintendo and Intelligent Systems, the studio famous for the 'WarioWare', 'Fire Emblem', and 'Paper Mario' series. It is scheduled for official release on May 28th and will be available for free.
Furthermore, Nintendo has addressed concerns regarding potential privacy leaks from using personal photos. The company explicitly stated, "User photos are not transmitted to Nintendo," clarifying that user photo data is not collected externally.
