In the 7th set, despite playing on the 2-player map Match Point, Park Sang-hyun used a fast drone scout to identify Lee Young-ho preparing for a "naked" fast expansion. He immediately pulled the drone that was heading out to build his own natural expansion and opted for an Overpool. He then sent additional drones to disrupt Lee Young-ho's construction of his natural expansion buildings.
It was effectively a Zergling all-in. The outcome hinged on whether Lee Young-ho's first Marine would be caught; however, Lee managed to get it into a bunker safely. Park Sang-hyun then sent Zerglings and drones into the Terran main base to harass him, and he didn't stop there.
He quickly researched Zergling Speed and produced more units, eventually flooding Lee Young-ho's main base with additional Zerglings to break his defenses and claim the championship. Lee Young-ho, who was attempting to become the first player to win five ASL titles and making his first finals appearance in about six years since Season 10, unfortunately had to settle for runner-up. The champion, Park Sang-hyun, receives a prize of 30 million KRW, while runner-up Lee Young-ho receives 10 million KRW.
