Kakao Games (CEO Han Sang-woo) announced on the 30th that it recorded sales of approximately 82.9 billion won and operating loss of approximately 25.5 billion won on a consolidated basis in the first quarter of 2026.

This quarter's sales, which applied the Korean International Financial Reporting Standards (K-IFRS), decreased by about 33% compared to the same period last year and by about 16% compared to the previous quarter, and operating losses continued.

By business sector, PC online game sales increased by about 4% compared to the same period last year and decreased by about 7% compared to the previous quarter, reaching approximately 27.9 billion won. Mobile game sales were calculated to be approximately 55 billion won, a decrease of approximately 43% compared to the same period last year and approximately 20% compared to the previous quarter.

The first quarter performance was influenced by factors such as downward stabilization of sales of existing live titles and limited contribution of new games.

Kakao Games is improving the completeness of its new game lineup encompassing a variety of genres and platforms in the second quarter and laying the foundation for driving performance in the second half.

Recently, a small-scale FGT was conducted for the 2.5D MMORPG ‘Project OQ (tentative name)’, and the main features of the game, such as 2D dot art and world view, received the highest level of evaluation, raising expectations. In addition, we are strengthening verification of the completeness of new works in preparation, such as conducting a closed test of the blockbuster online RPG ‘Archeage Chronicles’ in June, and are focusing on final preparations for release.

In addition, various new works, including the large-scale MMORPG ‘Odin Q’, ▲strategy adventure RPG ‘Dungeon Arise’ ▲open world zombie survival simulator ‘God Save Birmingham’ ▲subculture training simulation ‘Project C (tentative name)’, will be sequentially introduced considering various platforms such as mobile, PC, and console.
