**Eco-Driving** is a driving technique that minimizes fuel consumption by maintaining the engine speed (RPM) in the optimal torque range and maximizing inertia driving.

### **1. Cruise control + retarder combination**

It is the most basic, but there are many who do not follow it.

* Always turn on **Cruise Control (C)** on flat ground. The mechanical maintenance is much more sophisticated than the foot control, so it consumes less gas.

* Don't apply the brakes when going downhill because you're speeding up, but use **Retarder** or **Engine Brake (B)**. If you apply the brakes often, the oil will break when accelerating again.

### **2. RPM gauge 'green section' shooter**

If you look at the instrument panel, can you see the section marked in green? That is the optimal fuel efficiency zone.

* When accelerating, do not press on the full accelerator and hit the RPM red zone. **The national rule is to shift gears immediately at the end of the green section**.
