[Notice] Apology and guidance on normalization of service connection instability
Hello, this is the management of Game World.
First of all, we sincerely apologize for the great inconvenience caused to users who value our service due to the recent intermittent connection delay and service instability.
Currently, the management is carrying out emergency inspections and equipment to normalize the service. The replacement work has been completed, and we would like to provide transparent information about the cause of the failure and the measures to be taken.
1. Cause of failure
Due to the recent rapid increase in the number of users, excessive load (I/O bottleneck) has occurred on a specific data storage device (HDD). As a result, database processing was delayed, a 'connection error' occurred when the number of people allowed to connect was exceeded, and the service was not provided smoothly.
2. Key measures
In order to fundamentally solve the problem, the management team carried out the following emergency server transfer work.
Introduction of high-performance SSD (NVMe): All core data was transferred to high-performance NVMe SSD to solve the bottleneck that occurred in the existing HDD.
Database optimization: Limiting the number of accesses (Max. Connections) and significantly improved query processing performance to create a comfortable environment.
Strengthened system monitoring: By introducing a real-time resource monitoring system, we are constantly monitoring to prevent the same problem from recurring in the future.
3. Future plans
Currently, all functions of the service have been normalized, and it can be used much faster and more stably than before. Our management team will use this failure as an opportunity to re-examine the overall infrastructure and do our best to create a more robust 'gaming world'.
We once again offer our deepest apologies to our users who have endured the long-term maintenance and instability. We will repay you with better service.
Thank you.
Game World Operation Team
