AnimaTek was a Russian/US software development company founded in 1988 by Tetris inventor Alexey Pajitnov, Vladimir Pokhilko, and Henk Rogers. The company was known for its Caviar Technology, a surface pixel real-time rendering engine.
History
1988AnimaTek was founded in Moscow, Russia, by Alexey Pajitnov, Vladimir Pokhilko, and Henk Rogers.
1991Alexey Pajitnov and Vladimir Pokhilko moved to the US, and AnimaTek established an office in San Francisco, USA.
1993AnimaTek developed the fish and fish-tank simulator game El-Fish in collaboration with Maxis.
1995AnimaTek, along with Alexey Pajitnov and Vladimir Pokhilko, developed Ice & Fire.
1999AnimaTek co-developed The Next Tetris with Blue Planet Software.
Late 1990s: AnimaTek ceased operations, with most of its staff and technology moving to Digital Element, Inc., founded in 1999.
