Hanwha Life Esports tied for first place by winning against KT Rolster in the first round of the regular season of the '2026 LoL Champions Korea (LCK)' held at Jongno LoL Park on the 29th. Even though they had to give up just one set, they were in second place, and they achieved a 2:0 victory with a superior performance.

The following is the full interview with director Seongyoung Yoon and Hwanjoong Yoo of ‘Delight’.

Q. Congratulations on winning today’s game. Please leave a general review.

Coach Yoon Seong-young: First of all, I feel good that we won 2-0 today, and I’m glad that it worked out as well as I prepared.

'Delight': I am also satisfied because it seems to have gone well as planned.

Q. There must have been some pressure as it was a match against KT, who was in the lead. How did you prepare and what parts went well?

Coach Yoon Seong-young: I think it came out well, as discussed in the ban pick conversation with the players and coaches. As I gained the advantage early in the first set, I didn't feel like I was going to lose, and I think I used that momentum to win the second set more easily.

'Delight': In the ban pick prepared as a team, it seems that all five of us did well in our respective champion roles, and finding and targeting advantageous timing or the opponent's weak points was effective.

Q. Although our performance was not good during the LCK Cup, we finished the first round tied for first place.

Coach Yoon Seong-young: When I first came, I think there were a lot of friends who were not in good form. Still, the players worked really hard. We also had a lot of conversations with Jinhyuk (“Kanavi” Seo) in the process of adjusting to the LCK style. Whenever there was a difference of opinion, things gradually got better as we resolved it through dialogue. Also, I think the coaches were so good that we had such good results.

'Delight': The managers and coaches all worked hard, and the players also worked hard to improve their form. As we talk a lot and take care of each other, the team chemistry naturally increases and things seem to work out well.

Q. I don't think it would have been easy to come to an agreement since they were players with a lot of experience.

Director Seongyoung Yoon: I knew Jinhyuk’s style to some extent because I had worked with him before. We tried to talk more about the things that have changed since coming to Korea, and Jinhyuk's strengths were explained well through conversation in accordance with the LCK team colors. After today is over, I will clearly talk about whether I was able to fight in this situation or not, and the process of putting these aspects together seems to lead to a good result.

‘Delight’: Managers and coaches provide an environment where players can talk a lot. Thanks to this, the players are able to communicate openly and comfortably with each other and come up with a well-defined game plan.

Q. What areas need further improvement in order to advance into MSI?

Coach Yoon Seong-young: I want to more closely align the turns where we can use our strength together, like the mid-jungle battle in the second set today. I think we will do much better than we do now if we establish who is right about the turns in which we could fight and the turns we couldn't fight in.

‘Delight’: I don’t think there is a right answer to playing. When we look back, if there are any areas that need improvement, we will all provide feedback and improve them.

Q. There was also a tense situation in the final match of the first set where the players were separated. What was the situation at the time?

'Delight': Seeing that the opposing team was divided, the two top and jungle members looked at their angles. I went in because the angle was good in the situation at the time, and since the judgment in a teamfight keeps changing every moment, I think I handled it well afterwards.

Q. The first match of the second round is against T1. This is the team that suffered the only loss in the first round. What mindset will you have going into it?

Coach Yoon Seong-young: T1 is definitely a strong team, so there is some pressure, but since our players are in such good form right now, I think we can win if we just do what we've been doing with good feedback.

Q. Lastly, please say something to your fans.

Coach Yoon Seong-young: I’m glad we won 2-0 today. The players are working really hard, so I would be grateful if the fans would show a lot of support.

'Delight': I finished the first round well, and I will do well in the second round and make it to MSI.
