Riot Games unveiled today (15th) the update plan for this year’s second season of the PC MOBA game ‘League of Legends (LoL)’.

LoL's 2026 second season, 'Great Chaos', embodies in intense colors the narrative of 'Bane' gradually becoming corrupted while hunting demons. During Act 1, skins reflecting the season theme will be added, and in Act 2, an assassin champion who will be active in mid lane will be released.

A system to create a better gaming environment will also be introduced. When malicious behavior such as inducing defeat is detected, a function that allows immediate decision on whether to surrender or not is applied step by step through team member voting. When this function is activated, the player who intentionally causes defeat will have his LP deducted additionally, and sanctions will be strengthened, with some penalties also applied to the same party members.

The ‘WASD’ control method will also be tested and officially introduced so that players can enjoy the game in a variety of ways. Starting with the new season, this control method can be used in ranked games, and the skill control method for each champion can also be individually set.

The special mode ‘Arena’ adds ▲ a new map using ‘bombs’ ▲ an ‘augmentation level’ that strengthens ‘augmentation’ ▲ a ‘guest’ champion that changes the game rules. In addition, various contents, such as a three-person team-based mode and ‘Swift Arena’ to be introduced in the second half of the season, will be released sequentially.

Players can experience the new Act 1 content on the test server (PBE) starting today (15th), and can officially enjoy it on the live server at the end of April. Detailed information regarding the LoL 2026 Season 2 update can be found on the Riot Games official website.
