Koei Tecmo Holdings recorded sales of 88.4 billion yen (approximately KRW 818.6 billion), a 6.3% increase over the previous year, based on the decent box office performance of new films and excellent asset management.

According to the consolidated results for the March 2026 period (FY2026, April 2025 to March 2026) announced on the 27th, sales were 88.4 billion yen, operating profit was 37.2 billion yen, and net profit was 42.8 billion yen. Operating profit and net profit continued to perform well, growing by 15.7% and 13.8%, respectively.

In particular, the operating profit ratio was 42.0%, up 3.4 percentage points from 38.6% the previous year, maintaining unusually high profitability for a game company. However, ordinary profit was 57 billion yen, largely due to the inclusion of 18.6 billion yen worth of one-off profits, such as gains from the sale of marketable securities.

Accordingly, guidance for FY2027 (March 2027) was presented conservatively. Sales are expected to increase slightly by 1.8% to 90 billion yen, while operating profit is expected to decrease by 13.9% to 32 billion yen, ordinary profit is expected to decrease by 26.3% to 42 billion yen, and net profit is expected to decrease significantly by 27.6% to 31 billion yen, decreasing across profit categories. This is interpreted as a base effect resulting from the exclusion of large-scale securities sales profits reflected in FY2026 in FY2027.

Financial soundness remains solid. Total assets were 313.7 billion yen, a significant increase from 209.8 billion yen the previous year, and the capital ratio was maintained at 86.7%. Cash and cash equivalents also surged to 59.3 billion yen, 2.6 times the previous year's 22.6 billion yen, which was due to the raising of about 32 billion yen through the disposal of treasury stocks.

Meanwhile, along with this performance announcement, Koei Tecmo also revealed the cumulative sales volume of major series. The best-selling series is Dynasty Warriors, with over 24 million copies sold, followed by Nobunaga's Ambition and Dead or Alive, with over 11 million copies each. The Nioh series surpassed 10 million copies, the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series exceeded 9.5 million copies, the Sengoku Warriors series exceeded 8.5 million copies, the Atelier series exceeded 8 million copies, and the Ninja Gaiden series exceeded 7.5 million copies. Waryong: Fallen Dynasty, which was released as a Game Pass Day One title, was calculated to have been played by more than 5 million people based on the number of users rather than sales volume.
